Tianmi Leung grew up in the temple near Yichen, surrounded by his fellow disciple brothers. At first, he was protected like a little baby brother, and everyone was nice to him, looking after his wellbeing. He felt like he was part of a big, happy family.
But as Tianmi grew older and started practicing martial arts, the older brothers started picking on him, calling him names and pushing him around. They thought he was weak and didn't have what it takes to be part of their ethos. At first, Tianmi tried to ignore them and focus on his training, but it only seemed to make things worse.
One day, Tianmi couldn't take it anymore. He went to talk to the section leader, hoping he would do something to stop the bullying. But the section leader's answer surprised Tianmi. He told him to go find someone to protect, and he would grow stronger faster.
Tianmi didn't understand what he meant at first, but he didn't want to get bullied anymore, so he decided to take one night off and go to the nearby city to find injustice. That's when he saw him - a scrawny young man being picked on by a group of street thugs. The thugs seemed dissatisfied about the man's tattoo design for them. They destroyed his tool set and pushed him around. The young man seemed weak and helpless.
Something inside Tianmi stirred, and he knew he had to step in. He withdrew his staff and hit the thug closest to him. He had their attention. As the fight began, Tianmi felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through his veins. He thought he was invincible, and street thugs should be nothing to him. But he quickly learned that fighting in real life was very different from sparring at the temple. The thugs were much stronger and had a wider span than he had anticipated. They were throwing punches and kicks with incredible force and wider range.
One of the thugs jumped on Tianmi from behind and got him into an arm lock, and he couldn't break free. The person in front of him quickly hit him with all of his might, and the next thing Tianmi knew, he was on the floor with stars in front of his eyes.
"This young brat wants to play hero, right?" Laughter echoed. "I'm gonna teach you how real life hero ends in this world. And that's dea--" He proceeded with a kick aiming for Tianmi's stomach. But Tianmi caught his leg, clamped it down, and with all of his determination, he bit into the thug's calf. The rest of the thugs tried to come at him again, and this time, Tianmi knew he needed to be efficient and on point with his strikes. Throats, nuts, and eyes were his targets, and he got all four of them temporarily on the ground. That's when he saw an opportunity to escape and got the young man, Kayden, stumbled away from the scene.
Tianmi and Kayden knew they couldn't go back to Kayden's apartment anymore, so Tianmi told Kayden to come to the temple with him as a temporary shelter until they could figure things out. Kayden looked at Tianmi with gratitude in his eyes. "Thank you," he said. "I don't know what I would have done without you."
Tianmi felt a warm glow inside him, something he had never felt before. It was a feeling of purpose, of being needed. From that day on, he made it his mission to look after Kayden. Kayden always commended Tianmi's natural stamina and strength, and his encouragement became an anchor for Tianmi to combat the corny remarks from his fellow disciples. Tianmi's goal was to become strong enough so that he and Kayden could go back to Yichen without living in fear. At least that's what the naïve mind thought.

天弥和凯顿知道他们不能再回到凯顿的公寓了，所以天弥告诉凯顿暂时跟他去寺庙避难，直到他们能够解决问题。凯顿看着天弥这15岁不满的正义小屁孩，眼中充满感激之情。“谢谢你，”他说。“如果没有你，我不知道我该怎么办。”
天弥内心感到一种温暖的光芒，这是他从未有过的感觉。那是一种目的感、被需要的感觉。从那天起，他把照顾凯顿作为自己的使命。凯顿给他的鼓励成为天弥对抗同门弟子的庸俗言论的自信。天弥更加勤奋练功，这样他可以送凯顿回家，不再生活在受人威胁的恐惧中。至少，这是在他天真脑海中的一个想法。
